Paralegal/Legal Assistant Faculty



Summary:
Provide instruction and assistance to students to facilitate their successful completion of training based upon the prescribed curriculum.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned:
Meets class at specified time and date, and instructs class for the entire scheduled period. Be fully prepared for each class and familiar with all relevant software and text material.
Creates a learning environment where students are valued and encouraged to learn in a blended learning environment. Comments to the students are phrased in a positive, constructive manner, highlighting both strengths and areas of improvement needed.
Monitors and evaluates the students' work against stated learning outcomes and works with the students so that a full achievement level is attained. Grades and returns all assignments and assessments in a timely manner.
Maintains student grades and notes, and attendance in DiamondD on a daily basis.
Responsible for completing Mid Term Advising forms for each student half way through each scheduled course. Counsels students on their academic progress in the course and gives guidelines for improvement when necessary.
Leads and conducts lectures and labs in accordance to the daily course schedule. Provides students with an understanding of how they will use the course material in a work environment.
Monitors attendance, and retention while working the Student Success Department to insure attendance and academic progress.
Monitor students currently on probation. Follow corrective action plan and follow up with Student Services if necessary.
Ensures a professional work environment in the classroom. Enforces dress code policy and classroom rules.
Responsible for cleaning classroom after each class.
Participates in weekly faculty meetings. Communicates any student or classroom issues.
Maintain contacts with industry employers to stay current on training needs and industry developments. Provides students with an understanding of how they will use the course material in a work environment.
Reviews curriculum updates to become competent and skilled in the courses offered. Obtains industry certifications as determined necessary by the Institution.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Supervisory
Responsibilities:
This position includes supervisory responsibilities of the Teacher Assistant(s) when they are utilized in the classroom.

Education and/or
Experience:
Possess a Paralegal degree with a minimum of two years working experience. Previous successful teaching experience preferred, but not required.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
Paralegal is preferred but not required.

The work performed is carried out in an office and classroom setting. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate. There are no environmental hazards.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
