Summary:
This position is responsible for driving a commercial motor vehicle or tractor/trailer combination to pick-up, transport, and deliver scrap metal in a safe and timely manner focusing on customer service.

Essential Duties and
Responsibilities:

Perform daily tasks
Hook and unhook trailers from tractor cranking lever to raise/lower landing gear
Inspect equipment for defects, ensuring safe operation at all times
Submit reports regarding condition of equipment, as required before driving each tour of duty and at the end of the day
Check shipping papers to determine nature of load. Ensure all shipping documentation required to move product is available for inspection and that paperwork accompanies the shipment
Apply knowledge of commercial driving skills, maneuvering vehicle at varying speeds in difficult situations, such as heavy traffic, inclement weather, or tight loading and unloading areas
Maintain DOT compliance

Maintain records required for compliance with local, state and federal regulations including driver logs, fuel purchases, mileage, and all other records
Drive truck to and from destinations, performing all duties in accordance with company policies and state and federal regulations
Report Accidents and Safety Hazards
Report all accidents and safety hazards involving driver or company equipment
Promptly report any delays due to breakdowns, weather, or traffic conditions, or other emergencies, or in the event of irregularities relating to pick-up or delivery of products
Represent the company and trucking industry in a professional manner at all times through responsible driving and customer service
Report fraudulent activity
Report all accidents and injuries immediately
Abide by employee handbook
Commitment to safety through actions and behaviors is expected
Regular and timely attendance is essential

Qualifications:
High school diploma/equivalent prefEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
