They are a high volume tier one supplier of precision machined and assembled components. They have state of the art facilities full of high end machine tools, automated assembly, vision systems and automation between processes. We are searching for a Manufacturing Engineer to support the production machining operation. Our client will consider candidates with Bachelors or Associates degrees or 10 years plus on the job experience processing production machining equipment. Interested candidates will need experience in APQP requirements and new product launches. Experience designing cutting tools and work holding devices is needed. The Manufacturing Engineer will work from prints, review dimensions, select machine tools, calculate cycle times, run rates and labor requirements. Knowledge of speeds, feeds, cutting tool applications, chip loads and work holding is required. The Manufacturing Engineer will develop the process, tooling package, set up sheets, work instructions, inspection criteria and required documents. Interested candidates should have experience with some of the following machine tools or processes: cnc lathes, cnc mills, thru / end feed / centerless grinding, rotary transfer, dial transfer, automatic screw machines, multi spindle screw machines, swiss cnc screw machines, lathes, broaching, automation, automated assembly, automated inspection or high production machine tools. Manufacturing Engineers with experience with a couple of these processes will be considered. CNC programming is a plus, but not required. The Manufacturing Engineer should have good documentation skills, good design skills and hands on troubleshooting experience. Formal training in Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma is a plus.
MUST HAVE: 5 years of production machining and a degree or 10 years of on the job experience as a Manufacturing Engineer. Automotive APQP / product launch experience is needed. Candidates will need strong tool design, work holding design, process development and documentation skills. We will consider candidates with high volume machining or assembly of machined components in a highly automated environment.
