Gerdau is currently seeking a Process Engineer/Facilitator for its Jackson, MI facility.

Position Overview:
This position will assist the site Improvement Facilitators, Routine Facilitators, department superintendents, and plant management in ensuring the efficiency and effectiveness of all improvement aspects within their area of responsibility. The major role of this job is to focus on continuous improvement and integration of improvement principles, technical and engineering principles, identifying best practices, consistent application of the GBS, and act as a change agent to help achieve a higher level of results within the assigned location by utilizing and implementing improvement processes.
Process Engineering Improvements for existing systems and processes
Address customer issued alerts
Address failure analysis
Material disposition
Train union employees on Metallurgical related processes
Building Customer Relationships, Customer Visits, interact with product metallurgy and inside sales
Work with product conformance with all testing requirements
Maintain goal and project data bases. Perform trend analysis on the performance data as well as identify commonalities within the data.
Participate and contribute to the achievement of department goals including goal setting.
Facilitate training sessions for all employees on the improvement methodologies, tools, policies, practices, and processes.
Develop and coach employees on capabilities and knowledge in the application of the QIS methodology and participate (as needed) in QIS events.
Collaborate with Routine Facilitators on subjects pertaining to the GBS processes, improvement standards, CAPEX standards, audits, 5S initiatives, failure analysis, results management, QIS, FA, 6 Sigma, and other process improvement methodologies.
Identify and solve chronic/repetitive problems and failures as well as reduce process variation.
Assist with the development of the Annual Action Plan, and the administration of established policies, practices, and procedures.
Prepare and approve standards from CAPEX and improvement initiatives.
Implement and coordinate CAPEX projects, and Annual Action Plan Improvement Projects.
Oversee, contribute to, and support daily improvement management activities, which include providing timely and accurate cost estimates on proposed improvement efforts.
Provide consulting services to the departments on improvement methodologies and tools. Design new and revamp existing structures, systems, and equipment.
Provide support in implementation, maintenance, and follow up on the vertical and horizontal help chain.
Assist with all safety activities

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business, Metallurgy or Material Science or applicable field required
2+ years' experience working in a heavy industrial/manufacturing environment OR proven university materials based curriculum (Master's candidates will also be considered, commensurate with a high level research engagement in steel manufacturing and processing)
1+ years' experience working in a client facing/servicing role with a positive impact
Intermediate computer skills in MS Office (MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
Strong communication and management skills-incumbent will be require to supervise, train, guide and develop others
Background in steel making process, heat treat and/or process metallurgical engineering a plus but not required
Prior industry experience in steel, automotive, metals, manufacturing or heavy industry preferred

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
