Department Summary The qualified candidate will work as an Engineer within the Gas Storage and Measurement Engineering Group which is based in Jackson, MI. The Gas Storage Engineering Group is responsible for the overall integrity and strategic planning for 15 gas storage reservoirs and surface facilities. This position will report to the Director of Gas Storage, with some travel required throughout Michigan. The candidate must have a strong engineering background while demonstrating strong communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills. The individual should desire to learn, grow and should be highly adaptable. Experience working with contractors, field operations personnel, problem solving, and computer skills are essential. This candidate will design numerous projects within the gas storage system, such as surface facilities, pipelines, metering, and wellheads. The candidate will provide a critical liaison between engineering and field operations and will offer a mixture of field and office related tasks. Job Description/Responsibilities The proposed candidate will perform standard to moderately complex assignments utilizing professional work knowledge and abilities, requiring application of standard techniques, theory, procedures and criteria in carrying out a sequence of related engineering tasks. Judgment is required on details of work and in making preliminary selections and adaptations of engineering alternatives. The proposed candidate must independently evaluate, select and apply engineering theory, techniques, procedures and criteria, using judgment in making adaptations and modifications. Assignments have clear and specified objectives and require the investigation of variables. The qualified candidate will:
Develop and implement solutions to operating and maintenance problems.
Develop and implement compression, natural gas processing and piping projects.
Interface with operations staff in the support of equipment and piping modifications.
Manage engineering contractors used in equipment and piping modifications.
Review engineering contractor''s drawings, calculations and specifications.
Interface with construction contractors used in equipment and piping modifications. Resolve construction issues.
Prepare engineering calculations, equipment specifications and construction specifications in support of piping and equipment modifications
Specify bids and prepare bid evaluations for equipment and services.
Interface with supply chain to provide technical guidance for the procurement of material and services. Requirements/Qualifications
A BS or advanced degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, Geological, or Chemical Engineering preferred) from an ABET accredited college or university.
Previous Gas Storage Engineering is preferred, including familiarity with wells, transmission pipelines, and storage reservoirs.
Must be self-motivated and organized.
Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, and Power Point).
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Must be flexible and able to manage multiple tasks and shifting priorities.
Must demonstrate sound engineering judgment and the ability to solve problems and make decisions. A willingness to travel around the state and spend extended periods at work locations
Ability to obtain Certification of Engineer in Training (EIT) within 6 months and/or Michigan PE registration is preferred.
Location may be negotiable depending on selected candidate, but will require at least 1 to 2 days a week in Jackson Office.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
