Job Description
Eaton located in Jackson, Michigan is looking to fill a product engineering position. The purpose of this position is the development, design, and release of new and/or existing production hardware products for Aerospace fluid conveyance systems applications and testing. The role requires the ability to apply sound engineering principles in the development and support of hydraulic, fuel, and coolant fluid conveyance products through the ProLaunch product development life-cycle.
A successful candidate would be able to work as part of an integrated product team to take a design from Development to Production and Sustaining Engineering qualified production hardware. Opportunities also include involvement in product proposal and New Product Development support activity.
Essential Functions:
Create new products and modify existing products to support customer and market requirements, following applicable regulatory and industry standards, ProLaunch and ACES 1.0 processes, utilizing CAD 3D modeling techniques. Prepare design proposals for customer presentation.
Perform preliminary structural, thermal, dynamic, and performance analysis for design validation.
Perform tolerance analysis through stack-up calculations and/or utilizing statistical methods.
Define test procedures and setups for development, acceptance, and qualification testing. Monitor testing and analyze data to assure compliance to the established requirements. Review and approve test reports.
Participate on multi-discipline product development and corrective action teams.
Coordinate the execution of QTR and ATP on manufacturing of products.
Assist with failure analysis examinations and Failure Analysis Reports (FAR) of test findings and field issues.
Provide technical support to Testing, Quality, Manufacturing, Operations, Suppliers, and Customers as it relates to the product.
Participate in cost reduction activities in support of plant level cost out goals.
Ensure the successful completion of the assigned projects within the budgeted time and cost constraints.
Other duties as assigned.

Candidate must be legally authorized to work in United States without company sponsorship.
Ability to effectively develop 3D CAD models
This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.
Preferred
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering
One (1) to three (3) years of experience in mechanical and/or electro-mechanical design of packaging of fluidic devices and conveyance components involving dynamic/static sealing interfaces.
Proficiency in CATIA v5
Proficiency in Product Data Management systems for document control and workflow management (ENOVIA a plus)
Ability to perform preliminary structural and mechanical analysis through FEA, CFD, and/or kinematic simulation
Understanding of fluid conveyance related products, manufacturing techniques, and material science
Hose, Tube, Fitting, and Coupling design experience a plus
