Summary:
Under the direction of the Supervisor, Outpatient Billing , the Medical Coding & Billing Specialist administers and supports LifeWays' finance activities by processing claims for the provider network.
The Claims Specialist ensures all work keeps in line with the contract guidelines when processing claims by working with network providers, LifeWays Utilization Management, and Contracts Management department staff members as needed.
Essential Functions:
Manages provider payments, generates accurate and timely provider payment Invoices and claim reconsideration payment invoices.
Takes the lead in processing claims billings, including data entry and adjudication, within defined payment parameters and researches and corrects denied claims if appropriate.
Manages, as assigned, Medicaid deductible cases for Jackson and Hillsdale counties.
This is a shared job function, with one primary staff and one back-up as assigned by Supervisor.
Manages, as assigned, Family Support Subsidy program for Jackson and Hillsdale Counties.
This is a shared job function, with one primary and one back-up as assigned by Supervisor.
Generates consumer Explanation of Benefits (EOBs) quarterly and maintains the EOB list in excel.
Responsible for adherence to all Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) and Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) standards.
Required Education/Certification/Licensure:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Preferred Education/Certification/Licensure:
Associate Degree in a related field.
Medical Coding & Billing Certification.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
