Assist with in-person requests, answering calls, and LiveChat sessions to troubleshoot basic technology problems such as account login difficulties, computer hardware and software issues.
Entering work requests for second level support by IT staff members that could not fixed with basic troubleshooting.
Assist with IT equipment moves and other IT department field work as needed Troubleshoot basic technology issues using remote assistance tools like BeyondTrust.
Assist other departments with work duties as needed through the Student Consultant Assistance program Adhere to guidelines and policies set by Jackson College as well as ensuring clean and safe workspaces around campus.
Essential Functions DUTIES AND
Responsibilities:
Typical tasks include, but are not limited to:
Assist Jackson College (JC) students and employees with computer related issues; troubleshoot and resolve computer requests.
Monitor the use of electronic environments assuring the security of equipment, proper handling of notebook computers, and adherence to Responsible Use.
Encourage electronic environment patrons to follow policies and procedures; report patrons who will not cooperate with policies and procedures to supervisor.
Report Responsible Use violations.
Complete maintenance in electronic environments; report computers in need of repair to the supervisor(s); ensure support desks are secured at closing.
Achieve competency with JC standard equipment and software; assist learners to achieve competency with JC standard equipment and software.
Stage, deliver, set-up, test, operate, and retrieve electronic/media equipment campus-wide.
Maintain files, enter data, and run reports pertaining to computer lab equipment use/repair/maintenance.
Answer phones; relay accurate messages.
Perform other job-related duties as assigned Ensuring IT workspaces and campus technology is cleaned on a regular basis in accordance with Jackson College's policies.
Providing departmental support to other areas of the college that are involved in the Student Consultant Assistance Program.
Complete Student Consultant trainings, and learn department processes, policies, procedures in a timely manner.

SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS AND/OR REQUIREMENTS Student employees must also meet the following:
Must be enrolled in 6 or more credit hours through the entire term Must have an accumulative GPA of 2.
0 or higher Must successfully pass a criminal background check WORK ENVIRONMENT Primarily in the WA building but also assisting with technology in all other central campus buildings Working in a teamwork-based cohort environment that has been created to build a culture promoting collaboration, learning, openness, acceptance, and understanding.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
